Google Map Leads

Guide

How to choose the best Google Maps scraper for leads

Street map with business pins

If you sell to local businesses — websites, marketing, cold calling — Google Maps is the biggest free directory there is. There are three main ways to turn it into a lead list. Here's how they compare, and what to check before you pick one.

The three approaches

Every method below does the same basic job — turning Google Maps search results into a spreadsheet of businesses — but they differ a lot in cost, effort and how much setup they need.

1. Copying listings by hand

Free and needs no tools, but it takes minutes per business. Fine for ten leads, painful for a thousand.

2. Cloud scrapers and data APIs

Services that run searches on their own servers and send you the results. They're fast and can handle huge jobs, but usually need an account, sometimes an API key, and often charge per result.

3. Chrome extensions

Tools that read Google Maps in your own browser while you watch. They're simple to start with and cheap to run, and suit freelancers and small agencies who scan regularly.

What to check before you choose

Does it cover whole regions?

One Google Maps search shows a limited number of places. A good tool repeats the search town by town, or square by square across the map, so you don't miss businesses.

Can it filter what you sell to?

Web designers want businesses without a website; SMS and WhatsApp outreach needs mobile numbers. Filtering while you scan saves cleaning up afterwards.

How does pricing scale?

Pay-per-result pricing gets expensive on large lists. A flat monthly price is easier to predict if you scan often.

What happens when Google pushes back?

Long scans hit slow listings and occasional verification checks. Look for automatic retries and a clear pause when you need to step in.

Is the output ready to use?

You want clean columns — name, phone, website, address, country and region — in CSV or Excel, without duplicates.

Where Google Map Leads fits

Google Map Leads is a Chrome extension built for people who sell to local businesses. It scans town by town or across the map, filters by website and mobile numbers as it goes, retries slow listings automatically, and exports to CSV or Excel. You can try it free for up to 25 leads.
